Hi, I’m Simone.

About The FIRE Woman

I work full time, I have a life I enjoy, and I am also quietly, consistently building toward financial independence.

I’m just an ordinary person. I started investing in the stock market in 2014, with no finance background and no special insight, just a willingness to start. One of those early decisions was putting £228 into Nvidia. Ten years later, that single investment had grown to over £40,000. I’m not sharing that to brag. I’m sharing it because it shows what’s possible when you start early, stay consistent, and let time do the work.

Like a lot of women, I came to investing later than I would have liked. Nobody really teaches us this stuff. Financial independence – the idea that your money could one day cover your life without you having to trade your time for it – felt like something that happened to other people. People with higher salaries, or who started earlier, or who somehow already knew what a stocks and shares ISA was.
But the more I learned, the more I realised that financial independence is not out of reach. It just requires the right information, a clear strategy, and the willingness to start — even imperfectly, even late, even on an ordinary income.

State pensions are looking increasingly uncertain, and I don’t think we can afford to sit back and hope they will be there when we need them. That’s a big part of why I’m so passionate about helping women take control of their own financial future, rather than leaving it to chance.

That is why I started The FIRE Woman.

What this site is about
The FIRE Woman is a UK personal finance site built specifically for women who want to take control of their money and build a future that works for them. My purpose is simple: to show women that the stock market is not as scary or risky as it’s often made out to be.

Here you will find practical, no-nonsense guides on dividend investing, stocks and shares ISAs, and the FIRE movement – all written with a UK audience in mind and without the jargon that makes so much financial content feel inaccessible.

I also publish a Monthly Dividend Update, where I share my real life stock market results, including the dividends I’ve received and exactly how my own portfolio is performing, so you can see it play out in practice, not just in theory.

Everything on this site is the kind of information I wished I had found sooner.

Who this is for
This site is for you if you are a UK woman who wants to understand investing but does not know where to start. It is for you if you have started but want to be more strategic. And it is for you if you have a full life and a full time job and you still want to build something that gives you choices.

You do not need to be rich to start. You do not need to quit your job. You just need to begin.
